Munich Airport

The Munich airport opened in  May 1992 and is approximately 18 miles (29Km) from the centre of Munich, and named after Franz Josef Strauss, a former Bavarian Minister President . The airport designation code is MUC. There is a good taxi service at both terminals. The S-Bahn goes direct from the airport to the main railway station the Hauptbahnhof. Strange, but there does not seem to be a webcam for the Munich Airport. Please send details if you know of such a webcam

S-Bahn

The S-Bahn has two trains which circle Munich and pass through the main railway station, the Hauptbahnhof. The S1 travels on the north side and the S8 on the southern side. During normal hours, there is a train every 20 minutes. See the transport map located on this site.

Ski Flights

Munich is famous for the Oktoberfest and much more. It is also a great destination if you are planning on Skiing in Europe. Easy to access the slopes of Kitbühel, St. Anton, Neustift, Mayerhofen, Söll and many more.
