So what is
Climate Change
and how will it effect my family and I? A simple question, but there are
lots of answers. It depends on your basic view of the world, and climate
change, whether you think or believe the world climate is
changing. If you do then this part of the Perob website will provide
sources of information on Climate Change and the effects of
global warming.
I recently purchased a book called "
The Weather Makers " by
Tim Flannery who was voted Australian of the year 2007 for his work on
global warming and how and why climate change is happening now. After
you have read the book you to will want to do something about the way
the world is using fossil fuels, which are already having a major impact
on the world's climate.
One interesting fact about our climate is that 70% of the current world
population will still be alive in 2050 when major problems with the
climate are expected to effect the whole world, unless we control and
reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and manage climate change. See some
climate
quotes from leading publishers. You can purchase books from
Amazon on how to use
solar energy.
The current US President has not signed the
Kyoto Protocol. Because he
does not have enough facts, it is like going to the doctor who suggests
a course of treatment that will save your live, then ask, will it save
me if I take it, or will I survive if I don't take? You can wait and see
what happens, but if you die, you will at least know you should have
taken the medicine.
We cannot wait to see if Climate Change is dangerous to our health and
existence, we have to take the medicine now, which means reducing our
greenhouse gases, reduce our carbon footprint, stop using fossil fuels,
especially coal, which is the worse of all. It is also time that
pressure was put on the
United
Nations to enforce controls on poluters.
The Climate Change part of the Perob website lets you debate these
global issues and vote on what you think. There is a Climate Change
Forum for you to get more involved. You can email me about these far
reaching issues facing the world. Wikipedia has an extensive page which
covers a wide range of thoughts and links on
Climate Change.
Let's all help stop pollution, and make it safer for the next generations,
stop Climate Change.
